🚸 What does it take to help a child succeed? During our conversation with Planning Your Success Chicago (PYS), Executive Director Krystal Jones and Early Childhood Coordinator Virginia Easton share how reading empowers kids to reach their potential as they explore, dream, and imagine. 📖✨ Through their programs in Chicago, PYS has opened doors for countless at-risk children, giving them the tools to thrive academically and personally. With the support of Worldreader’s Let’s Get Children Reading Grant and BookSmart app, PYS is making reading fun, accessible, and transformative for kids like Philip, who’s growing his skills one book at a time. 👉 Meet Philip and learn more about PYS in this interview:https://hubs.la/Q02WqCzP0 #ReadingIsPower #Worldreader #LetsGetChildrenReading #UnlockingPotential

Worldreader’s ✨ Staff Spotlight of the Month:✨ Meet David Burgos from Barcelona, Spain! 🚀 What’s your day-to-day like? I start my day at 8 AM with a nice cup of black coffee. I review my calendar, focus on 1-3 big tasks, and prep for my meetings in the afternoon. After work, I enjoy spending time with my family and exercising, whether walking, running, or lifting weights. Before the day ends I like to read in bed until I drift off to sleep. 💙 What do you love most about working at Worldreader? Reading is vital to me, so contributing to Worldreader's mission with my passion and experience in tech is rewarding. I also really enjoy working with my teammates every single day. The great work-life balance is the cherry on top! 😀 📚 What's the last book you read and how would you rate it on a scale from 1-10? I just finished "Your Next 5 Moves" by Patrick Bet-David. I really like it because it isn't just another business book; it’s broader and deeper than I expected. I rate it 9 out of 10. 💡Fun Fact Most people wouldn’t know this, but I’m an amateur piano and keyboard player. Keyboards are my thing. 😌 #Worldreader #StaffSpotlight #Talent David Burgos Risco

👏 Here's to all Reading Champions, big and small! 📖 🌍
We successfully hosted the Mashujaa Wa Kusoma Prize Giving Event at The Kenya National Library on the 21st of October, and it was a tremendous success! It was a day filled with excitement as we crowned our reading champions, celebrating children who read over 25 books across different age categories (3-6 years, 6-8 years, and 8-12 years). We are incredibly grateful to all the BookSmart parents, our dedicated partners, and the amazing children who made this event possible. Together, we’re building a brighter future through the power of reading! 📚✨ The Mashujaa Wa Kusoma campaign saw a record 3,000 readers participating from Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, and Nakuru, all diving into the world of stories and learning. This overwhelming response is proof of the impact we’re making in encouraging literacy and helping children grow into lifelong readers. We look forward to continuing this reading journey with all of you. Thank you for championing reading with us! 👏🌟 Olivia R. Today, I'm excited to share the successful implementation of GenAI in collaboration with Worldreader to enhance children's reading skills globally! As part of this impactful project, we explored how Generative AI could help Worldreader, an international nonprofit, more efficiently create digital reading activities. Through the power of AWS Cloud services and AI tools, we developed a scalable solution that generates skills-building activities tailored to diverse backgrounds, helping children engage more deeply with the books they read. This approach allows Worldreader to create reading activities in record time, making it easier to reach readers where they are. I’m grateful to have been part of a project that brings creativity and technology together to support literacy around the world. You can also hear more about this project at the Data Science Conference this November!
