Our scholarship program for the BRIMM Executive Micro-certificate in Economic Leadership fall online program is open until July 8th. The application link is at the bottom of this post.
The BRIMM - University of British Columbia program is a unique opportunity to learn the business of globally sustainable mining from various perspectives, including financial, sustainable, exploration, and operational. It caters to professionals in the mining and extractive industry, from operations, geology, and mineral processing to legal consultancy or traders.
It is an optimized scholarship application process, with one application for the entire program. The program consists of 40 hours of content, 95% live, spread over four classes. The capstone is a presentation class where you learn how to package and deliver your ideas.
The program, running from September to December, is designed with your busy schedule in mind. We offer live classes twice a week for 1.5 hours each, with breaks between some courses. For our African or European participants, we have an afternoon class slot at 1 PM GMT/3 PM/5 AM PST. And for those in North America, Australia, and Asia, we still offer a 4 PM US Pacific Time class. And yes, we record our classes because we're committed to making this program accessible to all, no matter where you are.
Thanks to our program partner in Women in Mining USA, we are proud to be almost at gender equality. If you are a WIM member, please flag that. Judy Bolis is running that process for WIM.
When the Government of Canada funded three online and two in-person cohorts through the Global Partnerships Initiative, I could not imagine how much the scope of what we could do would change, and I love the students who have come through that process. Funding transformed our program.
We look forward to expanding our reach, so take the time to apply; the two short application essays at the end are optimally done outside the application and cut and pasted in.
If you have been a scholarship recipient in the past, we invite you to share your experience and how BRIMM has contributed to your career. Your story could inspire others and help them understand the value of this opportunity.
