  • Ghana’s FinTech sector, particularly the growth of mobile money, has revolutionized financial inclusion across the country. Women in Digital Transformation partnered with LINC for our recently published DECA Ghana report which highlights the tremendous growth in mobile money usage, with over 20 million active accounts as of 2023. This rise in digital financial services has made it easier for Ghanaians to conduct transactions, even in remote areas. However, the report also notes that while mobile money has greatly increased access to financial services, most users restrict its use largely limited to basic transactions. The majority of Ghanaians are either unaware of or reluctant to use mobile money for more advanced functions like paying bills or purchasing goods online, stunting the growth of a more dynamic digital economy. This reluctance is compounded by widespread online fraud and a lack of trust in digital financial services, which deters broader adoption. The report suggests that to fully harness the potential of mobile money and drive further financial inclusion, Ghana must enhance public awareness and strengthen consumer protection frameworks. Furthermore, addressing the gender and geographic divides in digital financial service usage is crucial for ensuring that all Ghanaians can benefit from the FinTech revolution. For a deeper dive into how Ghana can overcome these challenges and maximize the impact of its FinTech sector, explore the full DECA Ghana report. • In today’s rapidly evolving digital landscape, the generational divide in the use of social media and digital platforms is becoming increasingly apparent. This divide has far-reaching consequences. For businesses, it means that marketing strategies must be tailored to different age groups to be effective. Younger generations respond well to dynamic, visual content and social responsibility, while older generations may prefer more straightforward, informative content. On a societal level, the digital divide can exacerbate existing inequalities. Those who are less adept at using digital platforms may find themselves at a disadvantage in accessing information, services, and opportunities. This is particularly concerning as more aspects of daily life move online, from banking to healthcare. This article on Gen Z’s approach to social media offers valuable lessons for business leaders looking to bridge the digital divide and connect with diverse audiences. Here are three lessons that leaders can learn from Gen Z’s 2024 playbook: - Social Media “Breakfast”: Just like a morning meal fuels your day, Gen Z believes in starting their day with social media. Leaders can adopt this approach by dedicating time each morning to engage with their audience, post updates, and respond to comments. Consistency matters, and a daily “social media breakfast” can keep your brand visible and relevant. - Peak Posting Times: Gen Z knows when their audience is most active online. Leaders should analyze their own audience data to identify peak posting times. By sharing content during these windows, you can maximize visibility and engagement. Remember, it’s not just about what you post but also when you post it. - Social Listening: Gen Z is adept at listening to their audience. Leaders should actively monitor social media channels for mentions, feedback, and trends related to their brand. Social listening allows you to understand customer sentiments, address concerns promptly, and adapt your strategy based on real-time insights. Click to learn more: https://lnkd.in/dsBdbJf8
