Drum roll, please…coming to center court (ie the main stage) at this year’s Lead the Change Annual Event is DAWN STALEY!! While she needs little introduction, allow us to celebrate her accomplishments. Dawn Staley is a Hall of Fame player and coach. She’s currently the head coach of the reigning women’s basketball champions, the South Carolina Gamecocks. She’s also a three-time Olympic gold medal winner and coach. Creating a community where women and girls—and all people—have the opportunity to reach their full potential.
About us
The Women's Fund of Omaha addresses inequities in our community through collaboration that identifies, researches and creates solutions to advance, educate and fund lasting impact. We are working to create a community where women and girls—and all people—have the opportunity to reach their full potential. Since 1990, the Women's Fund has provided more than $35 million in grants to programs working to address the most crucial issues facing local women and girls as identified by our research. We are the only foundation that provides grants exclusively to programs for anyone who identifies as a woman or girl, and we are the leading organization researching issues concerning them.

A Special Legislative Session focused on taxes is coming next week and it will impact your economic security. 🚨🚨🚨 I know you don’t usually hear from us on tax policy, but Governor Pillen’s current plan will undermine our work on economic security and devastate Nebraska families by dramatically increasing taxes on everyday goods and services while implementing huge cuts to state agencies that provide critical services like childcare subsidies and SNAP. Find out what you need to know and what actions you can take to oppose increased taxes on Nebraska families: https://lnkd.in/gxgmEX3x

Our office will be closed June 24 through July 5. This mid-year pause is not new to us, but it has been extended to allow our team time to rest, rejuvenate and replenish. As part of our strategic planning work and inspired by The Nap Ministry, we recently added the value of rest. We honor that rest is a right and not a privilege or reward; and we believe that rest is a foundation to innovate, restore and reimagine our collective work. We'll be back on July 8 rested, restored and ready to continue to build a new path forward--together.
