Not all code is created equal! At WLCM, our hearts break for clients who bring us apps in disrepair, apps that don’t work, apps that are long past their intended launch date. Once we pop the hood of the app and look at the code, it’s a minefield, and “fixing a few minor issues and adding a few features” becomes an entire rebuild. We feel deeply for these clients who have lost thousands of dollars and months of time just to receive a mess. Inheriting poor quality code is like being handed a disastrously messy closet. Do you start over and do it right (re-build), or can you re-organize one shelf at a time on an as-needed basis (re-factor)? The answer to that question has major implications for your launch timeline and your short and long-term costs. Want to know more? Our founder, Lindsey Witmer Collins talked to Forbes about how AR/VR technologies could transform specific industries. In fashion, creating an AR version of ourselves would help us see whether a piece of clothing fit before we bought it. Yes please! In sports, these technologies can help analyze the form of athletes to help optimize their performance. Check out the whole piece here: https://lnkd.in/eHjkpYCY

Isn't it interesting how our digital processes still closely resemble the physical workflow? 📨 Email is a lot like regular mail... just faster. 📜 Static documents like .pdfs and Word documents are a lot like sending paper versions back and forth. ⏱ Logging employee time still works a lot like a physical time clocks and time sheets. As a development agency, we love helping organizations make their lives better by taking multi-step manual processes and transforming them into single-step automated processes. This lets our clients focus on the bigger picture and do more great work.

Pssst: It doesn't matter if a development partner has built an app similar to the one you want to create. Here's what matters more: 🧠 Creative problem-solving: Do they approach problems in unique and interesting ways? ✔ The execution layer: Do they manage projects well? Fulfill their promises? Stay on time and on budget? 💡 A learning mindset: Do they work to understand you, your vision, and your industry? Do they do projects *with* clients, or *to* them?
