The Resource Officers from the St. Charles Police Department made a surprise visit to our RISE clients today. They were so excited to greet the officers and each received Torch Run t-shirts. Miranda said, "I was scared at first, but Officer Love was nice. I even got a picture with him." The officers' visit left a positive impact on our clients. Their friendliness allowed our RISE group to open up and build trust with them. Special thanks to the St. Charles Police Department Officers for stopping by and hanging out with us! Over the years, many friendships have been formed through Willows Way. This particular Realities group has become home to a tight-knit group of friends who are always welcoming others. Recently, their group grew by one when Mason joined in for an adventure at Big Joel's Safari in Wright City, Missouri. Big Joel's Safari offered Mason and the others a space to enjoy each other's company while interacting with different animals. They really enjoyed feeding the parakeets, getting up close and personal with alligators, and much more. We want to give a huge shout out to Leonard! He recently bought a gorgeous Toyota Camry from The Car Store in St. Charles. Leonard was able to save money through his custodial account with Willows Way. Custodial Accounts help our clients learn to budget and save money with oversight from Willows Way. Leonard has had a custodial account for quite some time. He worked hard to save money, and his efforts paid off on Tuesday the 18th. Leonard had enough money saved to pay cash for his car. We are so appreciative of the service The Car Store has provided TWO of our clients in the last year. The staff was respectful and patient as they showed our clients different cars. During the purchasing process, they expertly guided our clients through the paperwork. Thank you to The Car Store for treating our clients with genuine care and respect. Adding to Custodial Accounts and learning how to budget money is just one way that our clients are living #lifebeyondlimits.

Congratulations to Sharee, the Direct Support Professional of the Year reward recipient! 🎉 Sharee has worked at Willows Way as a Direct Support Professional in one of our Floater positions since October 2022. She always has a smile on her face, whether she is working with a client or just stopping by the office to visit. Our clients and their families love working with Sharee, and she is adored by her coworkers, too! Clients are sure to have a great time when they are with Sharee. She ensures their needs are met while creating a space for fun. Sharee creates genuine connections with the clients by having meaningful conversations at events, on the job, and in passing. She has built great relationships with so many people that she supports. Sharee embodies the Willows Way mission and will continue encouraging our clients to live beyond limits. A group from our Realities program recently attended the home opener for the local baseball team, The O'Fallon Hoots! Josh, Kyle, and Matt loved spending time outside and watching the game together. Josh even won a game that landed him free hats! We asked Josh how it felt to be a winner, and he said, "I was so excited to win the hats! I won the hats by playing a game similar to Pinko from The Price is Right!" At Willows Way, everyone is a winner. Whether attending a baseball game with your friends or exploring a new passion, we all win when we choose to do what fuels our passions. #findingourway
