Today we bid a fond farewell to Gary Michon as he retires from his role as Willis Tower's General Manager.
He has been a cornerstone of Willis Tower since 2009, leading the customer experience for over 100 office, retail, and broadcast tenants, as well as 1M Skydeck visitors every year! He led a diverse team of nearly 400 professionals—including security personnel, janitorial, engineers, tradespeople, and industry partners—with enthusiasm and professionalism.
Gary played a key role in Willis Tower’s $500 million Street-to-Sky repositioning—the most significant transformation in the building’s history, and under his leadership, Willis Tower achieved LEED Platinum certification, making Willis Tower the largest LEED Platinum building in the U.S.
In addition to his work at Willis Tower, Gary serves on the Board of Directors for Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) Chicago and actively participates in the Labor and Nomination Committees.
We’re grateful for the years of expertise, innovation, and commitment Gary brought to Willis Tower.
