Widmer Roel is a professional corporation of certified public accountants located in Fargo, North Dakota. The Firm has forty-three full-time employees, twenty-nine of whom are professionals, including the stockholders/partners. Our firm is a member of the Private Companies Practice Section of the American Institute of CPAs and the AICPA Peer Review Program, which we submit to a Peer Review to ensure quality in our practice of auditing and accounting. Widmer Roel PC is registered with the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board, the AICPA Government Audit Quality Center and the AICPA Employee Benefit Plan Audit Quality Center. As a member of the American Institute of CPAs, we submit to a peer review to ensure quality auditing and accounting and help our clients meet their business and financial goals. Additionally, we are members of CPAmerica International, Inc. (CPAmerica), an international organization of independent certified public accounting firms and Horwath International (Horwath), the second largest accounting association in the world. Through our association with CPAmerica and Horwath, we are able to provide quality, knowledgeable and worldwide service to you. We provide audit, review and compilation services, as well as tax and financial planning and consulting for a variety of businesses and individuals. Our goal is to provide the quality advice and awesome service that our clients deserve in achieving their business and financial goals while maintaining a positive working environment that allows each of our team members to succeed along with our clients.

 Renee Havey, CPA Havey has joined Widmer Roel, a local public accounting and business advisory firm. As a Senior Tax Manager at Widmer Roel, Renee provides tax planning and preparation for individuals, businesses, and non-profit organizations. Renee has over 17 years of experience in tax consulting, multi-year planning, and return preparation, specializing in the complexities of farming and the agricultural industry. Renee is a graduate from the University of Jamestown where she earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in Accounting and Business Administration. She has been a Certified Public Accountant since 2009. What do you like to do in your free time? In my free time I enjoy walks, bike rides, and traveling with my husband and four kids. We try to take advantage of any nice weekend weather in the summer to go boating as well. I also play in a women's volleyball league once a week. What do you enjoy the most about tax planning?     Widmer Roel hires Sarah He as an Audit Associate Sarah He has joined Widmer Roel, a local public accounting and business advisory firm. As an Audit Associate at Widmer Roel, Sarah provides expertise in audit and assurance services. Sarah is a graduate from University of Illinois where she earned Master of Science in Accountancy. What do you do in your free time? “I love singing, playing piano, but right now I don’t have a lot of chances to play it here, since buying a piano is expensive. And I love travelling and exploring new restaurants and craft stores!” Childhood pets? “My mom likes being neat and clean, so I didn’t have the opportunity to have cats or dogs when I was younger. I once had a turtle and some aquarium fish back in my primary school.” What you love the most about auditing? “I love exploring new things and challenges. As an auditor, every day to me is different, I could always learn something new by self-studying for the CPA exam and working with my team. Also, analytical thinking is an important part of auditing, which makes my work a lot more fun and challenging.”

Jonathan has over 10 years’ experience in auditing and accounting, specializing in local governments. Jonathan is a graduate from University of Dickinson where he earned Bachelor of Accounting and Bachelor of Business Administration degrees. He has been a Certified Public Accountant since 2015. What do you do in your free time? “It kind of depends on the season. In the summer I try and get out on the golf course whenever I can, and the wife and I like to go to RedHawks games as well. In the winter we like to go to Force games and since it’s cold out I like to be inside and watch football or college basketball. Year round we try and go see family as much as possible as well as do some of our own traveling.” Pets and names? “We have a cat named Brat and a corgi named Jax.” What you love the most about auditing? “I enjoy helping clients with whatever needs they have. The auditors I’ve worked with at Widmer Roel as well as in my past employment possess a much-needed skill that can help clients solve problems with their financials or operations that can be very fulfilling as an auditor.” Welcome to the team, Jonathan!
