Where Food Comes From, Inc. is proud to be the exclusive third-party verifier for the Bee Friendly Farming Certification, a program that empowers farmers and ranchers to create safe, thriving environments for bees and other essential pollinators. Developed by Pollinator Partnership, the largest organization focused on protecting pollinator health, this certification is key to supporting sustainable agriculture. With over 450 farms already participating under Pollinator Partnership's second-party verification, the third-party option we offer ensures the same rigorous standards while promoting regenerative practices such as forage creation, nesting habitats, Integrated Pest Management, and soil health improvements. These efforts not only benefit pollinators but also enhance carbon sequestration, water quality, and effective crop pollination. The USDA Organic label indicates that agricultural products have been produced according to the USDA organic standards, which require operations to use practices that cycle resources, conserve biodiversity, and preserve ecological balance. USDA National Organic Program develops and enforces the standards for organic crops, livestock, and agricultural products so consumers can feel confident purchasing organic goods. Behind every organic label are the four pillars of USDA organic. 🔸 Protected by law. 🔸 Inspected by experts. 🔸 Traced from farm to store. 🔸 Shaped by public input. https://lnkd.in/emcVWwgf #NationalOrganicMonth #Organic

The rule clarifies existing standards for livestock care and introduces new requirements, particularly for avian species. Key OLPS Updates: - Livestock Living Conditions: Clearer requirements for indoor and outdoor access, promoting natural behaviors. - Avian Species: New welfare standards for birds, ensuring adequate space and outdoor access. - Consistency in Enforcement: Clear guidelines for transportation, handling, and harvesting, ensuring all producers meet the same high standards. The OLPS Final Rule, effective January 2025, promotes transparency and creates a fair marketplace for organic producers. At Where Food Comes From, we’re here to help you navigate these changes and ensure your operations meet the updated organic certification requirements. The new Organic Livestock and Poultry Standards (OLPS) Final Rule Core Course is now available in the learning center. The course helps organic certifiers, inspectors, and producers apply the changes to the USDA organic regulations from the OLPS final rule before the rule goes into effect in January 2025, helping to promote transparency and consistency in implementation. A new microlearning, NOP Certification and Accreditation Costs, is also available in the learning center! Learn more about the new trainings in the Organic Insider. https://lnkd.in/eZtDFCbh

The USDA has released updated guidelines to strengthen the documentation supporting animal-raising and environment-related claims on meat and poultry labels. This move ensures greater transparency and fairness, particularly for claims like "Raised Without Antibiotics" and "Grass-Fed." The updated guidelines emphasize the importance of third-party certification to verify these claims, protecting consumers from misleading information. At Where Food Comes From, we're proud to be your trusted partner in substantiating third-party claims, ensuring that your labels are credible, truthful, and trustworthy. USDA NOP Update for Organic Imports Starting September 19, 2024, the USDA's National Organic Program (NOP) will no longer accept the temporary filing code (999-999-T) in the ACE system for organic shipments without an NOP Import Certificate (NOP-IC). Non-compliance may lead to enforcement actions. 🔑 Key Points: - Obtain the NOP-IC before your shipment departs the foreign port. - Without a valid NOP-IC, your shipment must be reclassified or reexported. - Certified importers listed in the Organic Integrity Database are required for organic trade.
