20 years ago, in 2004, my journey in learning about ACH began. With just 2 months of experience, I aimed for the Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) designation following a WesPay training seminar. Despite the recommended 2 years of experience, I persevered. As the exam deadline neared, doubts arose, and the vast information seemed overwhelming. Yet, giving up was never an option.
I devoted hours to studying payment rules, creating flashcards for definitions, and even had my mom quiz me – a gesture I deeply appreciate. Upon receiving the letter from NACHA, opening it filled me with hesitation, convinced I hadn't passed. Encouraged by my boss, I finally did. To my astonishment, the first word read "Congratulations," and in that moment, I knew I passed and my hard work paid off.
Receiving my new certificate made me realize it has been 20 years already. I am forever grateful to three special individuals at WesPay: Mike Gilchrist, Regis McKenna, and John Curtis. Their unwavering support, kindness, and patience have been invaluable over the years. This applies to the entire WesPay staff and experts. WesPay has always been at the top of my resource list.
Reminder: Don't ever quit just because something seems scary or daunting. You only fail if you quit!
