We, and many other users, are protesting today 24th of September, and on a weekly basis on Tuesdays, against this platform’s #censorship and constraints to #freedomofexpression, around the violent occupation in Palestine and connected issues. 🆓🇵🇸🍉
Countless advocates for ending this genocide are being ousted, #restricted and #shadowbanned, including this corporate account, for nothing more than telling the #truth or simply for expressing political positions that are not aligned with LinkedIn’s senior management political thinking. LinkedIn is targeting anyone who reports truthful facts about this inhumanity, anyone who express different political opinions and asks for institutional accountability. The negative publicity LinkedIn attracts with this very controversial policy largely outweighs benefits generated by leaving open space on its platform to Zionist propaganda and other disreputed political ideas. This stance does not even make business sense, as it tarnishes their corporate reputation as a ‘professional’ social platform. Perhaps if we all refused to pay for premium services on this platform they would start listening. A professional social media platform should not select and filter content based on arbitrary political bias. Individual followers can decide, with their own minds, which content they want to see and support, based on their choice to follow certain accounts and reacting to content they wish to see more of. There is no need for further selection by platform moderation, which is opaque and arbitrary.
Who would store personal and sensitive data on a platform that actively promotes arbitrary #politicalcensorship and is politically aligned? This goes against professional ethos and corporate reputation. This has to stop. Immediately. For the sake of the business future of this platform and the freedom of expression of its users.
We request that these arbitrarily restrictive policies are abolished. We users have experienced the impact on our posting of such policies, from personal experience, for which we now have irrefutable #factualevidence. We are collectively willing to share such evidence with interested parties and the press. Every week tens of thousands of people around the world see these protest messages, react and comment, as proof this is a real issue for many LinkedIn users, even if this a challenging topic to talk about.
