There are four main types of #WaterRisk #data you should measure to ensure comprehensive and effective water risk management and reporting: 🌏 #Global Water Risk Data: Measures risks such as water scarcity, quality, flooding, infrastructure, reputational, and regulatory risk. It’s useful for assessing risks on a macro scale and benchmarking your facilities against global averages. Example: NASA’s GRACE satellite data. 📍 #Local Water Risk Data: Crucial for understanding site-specific challenges. Examples include local hydrological datasets, water quality reports, and data from governments and local universities. 🏭 Site #Vulnerability Assessment Data: Determines a facility’s susceptibility to water risks. Some facilities may have robust water management plans, while others may not. 📊 Water #Accounting Data: Includes water consumption, discharges, costs, and associated revenue. Essential for understanding water efficiency and identifying improvement opportunities. Want to learn more about the data you should measure? 📝 Sign up for our #newsletter: https://lnkd.in/diXXzRQj

#WaterFactFriday: Groundwater – A Vital Freshwater Resource Did you know that groundwater constitutes about 99% of the world's usable freshwater? This essential resource becomes especially critical during droughts, often serving as the only available freshwater supply in many regions. (The Groundwater Project) Groundwater supports countless businesses, cities, and communities. For instance, approximately 44% of the U.S. population relies on groundwater for their drinking water needs. There's a common misconception that groundwater is an endless resource. While it is replenished by rainfall, this process can be significantly slower than the rate at which groundwater is extracted in some areas, leading to depletion issues worldwide. Understanding and managing groundwater quality and availability is essential for effective water risk management. Join our #webinar on July 3rd to gain valuable insights into groundwater dynamics and learn how to measure and manage groundwater data for informed decision-making. 📝 #Register now using this link: https://hubs.la/Q02D18Gg0
