Provides sustainable access to safe water, improved sanitation and hygiene in the world's most neglected areas.

About us

Since 2004, Water for Good has worked in partnership with the people of one country-– the Central African Republic— to pursue sustainable water services for every man, woman, and child. We recently joined together with Lifewater, sharing the mission of transforming lives through sustainable access to safe water, as well as improved sanitation and hygiene, in places that need it most. Our commitment stems from our Christian faith, and we seek to serve all people of any faith or none. Using a data-driven approach, we currently provide lasting drinking water to nearly a million people by constructing over 1,100 water points, including communal tapstands connected to solar-powered pump systems and handpumps. We provide routine maintenance services to over 2,100 water points and our Radio Water for Good shares broadcasts about WASH education, Christian faith, and peace-building nationwide. The Central African Republic is one of the most fragile countries on earth. To break the cycle of chronic emergency response, we catalyze the district roadmap approach, incubate professionalized operations and maintenance services, and extend our evidence of best practices globally. As we continue to blend our WASH programs with Lifewater, we are thrilled to now be serving those in Tanzania, Uganda, Ethiopia and Cambodia. We develop and share best practices alongside our partners: One for All, the WASH Agenda for Change, the Uptime consortium, the Accord Network, and the Safe Water Enterprise Community of Practice, as well as local and national partners.

Something exciting is coming soon! Water for Good merged with Lifewater International back in January of this year, and we've been working hard on creating a new, combined brand. Our leadership and staff have been diligent to respect the history of both organizations while thinking carefully and creatively about how to express our new brand. We plan to share this with you in the coming few weeks. Stay tuned! We hope you love it as much as we do. Fun Fact: We added a new color to the Water for Good branding. Can you guess what it is?

Meet Sinzo Dotto from the Mishepo village inTanzania. With guidance from WASH facilitator Suzana Joseph, Sinzo learned about sanitation and hygiene but faced economic challenges in implementing changes. Despite financial struggles, Sinzo's grandchild, Sindi, took on the task of cleaning the compound every morning, showcasing the power of education and community support. Suzana went above and beyond, rallying her community to provide the necessary help for constructing a latrine and installing water facilities. Thanks to their collective efforts, Sinzo's family, along with others, are on the path to healthier homes. Your support can help more families like Sinzo's. Store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. – Matthew 6:20 Have you thought about giving a legacy gift? These gifts help those in need for years and years to come. Providing children in need with reliable water, healthy homes, and the love of Christ for years to come are some of the reasons people give to Water for Good. Legacy gifts to Water for Good also bring life-saving safe water and the good news of Jesus to those in need. And those gifts multiply, helping children receive an education and parents operate businesses. Plus, a planned gift has additional benefits, including: - Tax savings - Providing extra income to loved ones - Allows for increased giving capacity - Opportunities for memorial gifts If you have already included Water for Good in your will/estate plan and/ or would like to learn more, please email [email protected].

Today is International Day of Charity. Let's remember that the true measure of giving is the love we pour into it. At Water for Good, we ask that you explore your options on what matters to you in the world. For us, providing access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene is vital. Nearly 703 million people are effected by the global water crisis, and creating reliable sources of water around the globe to make healthy homes and thriving communities is what drives us everyday to keep moving forward. To make a gift, visit waterforgood.org/donate. Some background on the holiday: The International Day of Charity was established with the objective of sensitizing and mobilizing people, NGOs, and stakeholders all around the world to to help others through volunteer and philanthropic activities. The date of September 5th was chosen in order to commemorate the anniversary of the passing away of Mother Teresa of Calcutta, who received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979 "for work undertaken in the struggle to overcome poverty and distress, which also constitute a threat to peace."

We would love for you to continue joining us on our journey. Through faith and the drive to work in these communities that need access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene the most, we can use your help to make a difference. We love seeing faith in action! Wagunyanya, blind and living alone, praised God after the local church built him a latrine and hand washing station, rid his home of lice, washed his clothes, and fitted him with a new shirt. As part of Water for Good's Healthy Church program, all households considered "vulnerable" by Water for Good/Lifewater staff must be registered "Healthy Homes" before the churches in the area can be celebrated as Healthy Churches. Both Redeemed Church and Christ Light Church learned of this and God's mandate to serve their neighbor, and they joyfully set out to help Wagunyanya. With their love and support, Wagunyanya's home is a healthy! To aide in our vision and mission to spread safe water with the power of the gospel behind us, visit waterforgood.org/donate.
