About us
The WateReuse Association is a not-for-profit trade association for water utilities, businesses, industrial and commercial enterprises, not-for-profit organizations and associations. Our members represent more than 100 communities and 50 million utility customers around the country. WateReuse is the only trade association that focuses solely on advancing laws, policy and funding to increase water reuse. Our niche strategy sets us apart from other organizations in the water industry. The vision of WateReuse is a nation where every community has a safe, reliable, locally-controlled water supply that protects the environment, sustains economic growth, and provides a high quality of life.

Words cannot express my gratitude for all those who attended our WateReuse California conference. We could not have hosted this event without our amazing volunteers who helped to plan and support the event. We had record breaking attendance, many generous sponsors, a full exhibit hall, and three days full of inspiring technical presentations and panels. I am truly in awe when I think about the expertise, passion, and leadership that was represented over the last three days.

So very honored to receive the Bahman Sheikh Award for Vision in Water Reuse today at the WateReuse Association Conference in Garden Grove. It’s been a privilege to work with so many amazing and committed people like Bahman, and others who have contributed to expanding the use of recycled water in California and beyond. I’m grateful for the recognition and for this prestigious award.

Time for our annual Melanie picture! We were able to round up Melanie Holmer and Melanie Tan and Melanie Mow Schumacher (me)- but need to get a full one with Melanie Carrido at the 2024 WateReuse Association California Conference! Even found two two Eric/ks (Erik Desormeaux and Eric Rosenblum). See more pics in the comment section - Including 2019 and 2023. If you find a Watereuse twin- post a pic to share!

The Pacific Northwest isn’t the first place that comes to mind when one thinks of water recycling, but that’s changing fast, and it was the perfect backdrop for a strategic planning session of the WateReuse Association’s Board of Directors. We spent several days in City of Boise learning about its water reuse project in partnership with Micron Technology and participating in the Pacific Northwest Clean Water Association conference - where our WateReuse Pacific Northwest Section hosted standing-room only crowds for a technical session track on water reuse. Natalie Monro, Jared Kinnear, Kari Davis, Emily O'Morrow, Dawn Taffler, Royce Davis, Tressa Nicholas organized terrific sessions during the conference with great speakers that showcased best in class water reuse projects in the Pacific Northwest and elsewhere, including Tucson Water’s wetlands system and San Francisco Public Utilities Commission’s Living Machine.
