Today is a special day at Washmen as we celebrate our annual driver appreciation day. Meet Anwar, our first Washmen driver, who has been with us for an impressive 8.5 years! As the founder of Washmen, I always remind our team why we chose this name. Our drivers are the first and only point of human contact with our customers. They are the real Washmen and the face of our brand. I am grateful for the hard work these men put in to make our customers happy. To all of our drivers, well done and keep up the great work!

    CEO @ Washmen

Dear Washmen Customers, Thanks to your support and collective effort, Washmen has successfully donated AED 270,000 (which represents 5% of our sales) towards Tarahum for Gaza through the Emirates Red Crescent (permit number PRHCE-002176535). These contributions are more than just monetary; they are symbols of solidarity that resonate deeply with values we hold dear. At Washmen, we believe in the power of community, and your involvement has proven that together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need. I am blessed and thankful to be in a position to help and influence these efforts for our people. A month has passed since we made this pledge, and the situation in Gaza has become unimaginably dire. More than 1.5 million Palestinians have been re-displaced from a refugee camp to which they had been displaced earlier. We are witnessing a live genocide unfold on social media. Humanity has let us down again, and the lessons of ‘never again’ have been forgotten. With all this pain, the Palestinian people, their diaspora, and supporters remain resilient. As a reminder, if you want to donate directly to the Emirates Red Crescent (as easy as Apply pay), here is the link: https://www.emiratesrc.ae/ All we can wish for is an end to this bloodshed and better days for this and future generations. With heartfelt regards, Rami Shaar CEO at Washmen

Washmen will donate to Gaza 5% of Washmen’s sales for October will be donated to the Gaza relief efforts through licensed charities in the UAE. I am reaching out to you today with a heavy heart, as I reflect upon the ongoing situation in Palestine. It is heartbreaking to witness the dehumanization and loss of innocent lives in these challenging times. The individuals in Gaza are enduring unimaginable hardships and require our collective support. It's staggering to think half the population (1.1m people) are confronting the possibility of further displacement from refugee camps where they've been refuging in for the past 75 years. Many of you may not know, but I am a Palestinian by lineage. My grandfather, born in Jerusalem in 1922, belonged to a family with deep Palestinian roots. After his passing in 1964, my father lived in an orphanage in Jerusalem until the break out of the 1967 war. The subsequent years saw my young father seeking refuge in Jordan's Al Wehdat camp, where he found a home with 10 of his cousins at his aunt’s residence. It wasn't the life any child would dream of. The trauma still did not break this child. He wasn’t extraordinary, just a regular man with dreams. With unwavering focus on education, he ventured to the UK and the US for college and university after turning 18. His determination stemmed from a desire to provide his children with opportunities he never had. He believed in the transformative power of education. Thanks to his sacrifices, within a single generation, he succeeded in nurturing three thriving children. I am testament to his belief that when individuals are accorded dignity and basic human rights, they can thrive to be valuable citizens of this world. Despite the trauma, the resilience of the human spirit shines through, allowing us to heal and move forward. My father instilled in us a profound appreciation for our Palestinian heritage. As a family, we dream of a world where Palestinians and Israelis don’t merely coexist, but thrive together. We envision a future where opportunities are equitably provided to all, fostering a flourishing generation. Below is an image of my father taking a year book picture in Al Wehdat refugee camp in Jordan. Washmen’s Commitment: This October, we've witnessed unprecedented sales. While it's a time of celebration for our company, we recognize our responsibility to give back. As such, we've committed to donate 5% of our sales, which we anticipate will constitute nearly 30% of our profits for the month. Rest assured, this contribution will solely be given to licensed charities in the UAE dedicated to the Gaza relief efforts. In November, we'll announce the charity that received our donation. If you're inspired to make a personal contribution within the UAE, the Emirates Red Crescent offers a seamless way (Apple pay accepted) to do so. Please visit: https://www.emiratesrc.ae/
