It was a wonderful chance to present the current development around #ICON in the #WarmWorld project but also fundamental aspects of #HPC at #DKRZ - thanks to my colleagues Claudia Frauen and Jan Frederik Engels.

#ICON is a very efficient model which can be run on supercomputers to produce forecasts for long periods of time, making it well-suited for climate research as well as for operational weather prediction. But, up to now, the #ICON model is monolithic in nature, meaning it presents a large code with many convoluted dependencies.
