Summertime is officially here, and last week the W&A Atlanta Team took to the great outdoors for their Annual Summer Picnic along the banks of the beautiful Chattahoochee River in Roswell!   Sunny day ✅ Cool Breeze ✅ Scenic location ✅ Delicious Food ✅ Relaxing Day with an Amazing Team ✅

The 2024 Georgia Municipal Association Annual Convention was held June 21-25 in Savannah. Every year, the convention brings together city officials and local leaders from across the state and provides informative sessions on topics relevant to municipal functions and operations, specialized training for elected officials and staff members, and a vibrant trade show featuring products and services aimed at enhancing city operations and improving the lives of citizens. W&A has been a regular participant in the Municipal Marketplace trade show at GMA for several years, and this year was no exception. This year, the firm was proudly represented by Government and Community Services Director, Buck Bacon, Senior Project Manager, David Mills, PE, and Senior Planner, Jason Gaines, AICP. The team made contact with several city managers, mayors, and city council members, informing them of the services offered by W&A, the firm’s solid reputation, and the firm’s commitment to building better communities. The countdown to next year’s GMA Convention is underway!  

Thank you to the Association for Learning Environments Georgia Chapter for hosting us last week at the 2024 Summer Conference in Jekyll Island. This year over 175 school facilities were in attendance. We had a wonderful time connecting with local schools, architects and engineers and looking forward to staying in touch. Thank you to William Hill, BJ Martin and Andy L'Esperance for an amazing time!

We take #BallForAll very seriously ⚾ From our work with esp, inc. on their Miracle League Field to our annual spring softball league at the Oconee Veterans Park, we love any time we get to get out of the office and toss the ball around - and make that opportunity possible for others! Years ago, we worked with Oconee County Parks and Recreation Department to make the OVP a reality, and it's such a joy to get to visit with our colleagues, friends, and family today. GEDA's Spring Workshop was a homerun! ⚾ From great sessions on site readiness to workforce development programs to tax initiatives, the W&A team had a blast connecting with communities, partners, and clients in beautiful St. Simons, Georgia. Our President and CEO Jon Williams led a breakout session during which he presented a case study on TADs and the Georgia Square Mall, a redevelopment project we're proud to bring to Athens, Georgia.
