Last week, VPD Government Solutions held a graduation session for this year’s Leader Core Training (LCT) cohort. Seven dedicated VPD team members completed an intensive seven-month learning journey, and VPD leaders along with past LCT alumni gathered to celebrate the group's accomplishments. LCT students also presented their capstone projects. The purpose of the capstone is to produce innovative business solutions based on lessons learned throughout the program, designed to support VPD’s ongoing improvement and success. Team VPD’s capstone was titled “Orientation ”, which focuses on improving the onboarding process and strengthening the sense of community for new employees. Team CDCI‘s capstone was titled “Professional Development - Pathways”, which focuses on creating a pathway for all VPD employees to advance in their career within VPD and fortify employee retention. A huge congratulations to our 2024 LCT cohort: Austin Hanna, PMP Maria Julia Flores Lauren Griffin Andrew McDowell, PMP Julia Bleser Gabriela Valentín Natalie W. Last week's LCT session was packed with invaluable insights and practical takeaways for our leadership journey at VPD Government Solutions! We kicked off with a deep dive into effective communication, led by Rob Anastasio, PMP, who shared key principles, tools, and methods that leaders can use to enhance their communication skills. This is essential for fostering a culture of clarity and collaboration at VPD. Sara Haines then took the stage to emphasize the vital role of employee engagement in creating a thriving workplace. She provided practical strategies for boosting and sustaining engagement, reinforcing the idea that leadership plays a pivotal role in nurturing an environment where employees can truly flourish. To close out the session, Roy V. Cantor, PMP guided us through important updates and guidance on the LCT Teams’ Capstone Projects, which are set to be presented on LCT Graduation Day. With these insights, our cohort is better equipped to drive organizational success through strong communication and meaningful employee engagement.
