Our final report on the 2024 Legislative Session is out! This year VNAs of Vermont was successful in advocating for a Medicaid rate increase for the skilled home health services many Vermonters and their family members depend on, and key legislation that will give Vermont home health and hospice agencies new flexibilities to keep staff safe while they’re working hard to care for people in their homes. We also worked with coalition partners to secure a rate increase for home and community-based services including home-based Choices for Care direct services provided by home health agencies. For a full list of the bills we worked on this legislative session read our 2024 Final Report, which can be found linked on our website. We want to thank legislators and the Governor for supporting home health and long-term care this session, and for giving our member agencies a new flexibility to protect staff from unsafe situations.

Sara King is an incredible leader who has impacted the lives of countless Vermonters. Her unparalleled knowledge of finance and operations combined with thoughtful decisiveness make her an incredibly effective executive. Sara's leadership has extended well beyond VNAHSR, through her mentorship of other home health and hospice leaders and work on the VNAs of Vermont board. She has impacted our entire system of home-based care and it’s a little hard to imagine it without her. Her retirement is well deserved, and she will be deeply missed!

This year we are thankful for the dedicated nurses, therapists and other staff who provide compassionate home health and hospice care to our families, friends and neighbors. Because of the care provided by VNAs of Vermont member agencies, many Vermonters will be able to spend the Thanksgiving holiday in their homes, with their families.
