Presenting the 'School Without Walls' at SCUP yesterday was a celebration of The University of Virginia's School of Data Science. As the first school of its kind in the nation, it is guided by common goals: to further discover, share knowledge, and make a positive impact on society through collaborative, open responsible data science research and education. At the forefront of the transdisciplinary field of data science, this first academic installment on the Emmet-Ivy Corridor, the groundbreaking center is set to help define the future of the University’s development.
Yesterday Mike Taylor (Principal, Hopkins Architects), Phil Bourne (Founding Dean, UVA School of Data Science) and Lauren Shirley (Senior Associate, VMDO Architects) presented ‘A School without Walls: The Architecture of Data Science’ - at the annual Society for College and University Planning (SCUP) Conference in Philadelphia.
