Sometimes a ribbon cutting for a small business seems like a small thing, especially when it's not a high-profile new restaurant or other "sexy" business that everyone is excited to see. But, I try to attend all of the "business-support" activities that I can. Is it a revenue-generating activity? Not usually. Do I receive a trackable ROI on my time? Nope. Do I give my time and productivity in order to celebrate neighbors who are taking risk and bringing new jobs, products, or services to my local market? 100%. There aren't always a lot of us in the frame, but supporting entrepreneurs is always a worthwhile use of time.
