    Destination Creation!

Uh, let’s think this one through. This may seem like a great addition to Alaska and SFO but when you are in a hurry it is an exercise in frustration unless you know how to load the bag exactly onto the conveyor. As with most things, this buck is passed to the consumer. Next I’ll be flying the plane! Expect a lecture in what previous stickers and tags to remove, which way the wheels go, how the tag should be positioned for the scanner (wheels away from you). This takes time in line and half the travelers had to call the agent. Eventually it will be seamless for seasoned travelers but not so certain about it being friendly to the travelers with disabilities. Airports and airlines can innovate but TSA hadn’t changed much in 23 years.

Today, the U.S. Navy has taken a monumental step in righting a historic wrong. On the 80th anniversary of the Port Chicago disaster, the Navy exonerated 256 Black sailors who were unjustly punished following the horrific 1944 explosion that claimed the lives of hundreds, the majority of whom were Black. This explosion not only exposed the racist double standards of the time but also resulted in severe and unfair punishments for those who bravely demanded safer working conditions. Despite their sacrifices and contributions, these sailors were denied the honor and recognition they deserved. Thanks to the tireless efforts of many, including the late Thurgood Marshall, the first Black Supreme Court Justice, and the enduring fight of their families, justice has finally been served. This exoneration clears their names, restores their honor, and acknowledges their courage. President Biden's statement aptly puts it: "With this action, we are righting a historic wrong." Today, we remember their bravery and continue to strive for a more just and equitable future. #Honor #Justice #USNavy #PortChicago
