U.S. Ambassador (ret.) - Builder of Bridges, Coalitions and Partnerships - LGBT Leader

Enjoyed learning more about LGBTQ Victory Institute’s mission to politically empower #LGBTQ community leaders from Elliot Imse and Zach Baldwin. I’m especially pleased to see the Victory Institute carry decades of lessons learned making our democracy more representative of all citizens to programs with partners in 11 country overseas. Looking forward to opportunities to collaborate. #LeadOutLoud

Happy National Hispanic Heritage Month! This month, we’re celebrating the 175 Latinx leaders currently serving in elected office around the United States. In the face of xenophobia and racism, Latinx leaders have shaped history in immeasurable ways, and LGBTQ Latinx folks have been at the forefront of the most important moments in the movement for LGBTQ rights. We are so proud and glad to have their voices in office! https://lnkd.in/eM65Suee

And just like that, our final LGBTQ Public Leadership Summit of the year is complete. Where does the time go!? A huge thank you to our amazing speakers, Palm Springs City Council member Lisa Middleton, California state Assemblymember Rick Chavez Zbur, Monterey Park Mayor Thomas Wong, and Los Angeles County Assessor Jeff Prang, for joining us and sharing their tips and tricks on running with us. And to our amazing attendees - this event would have been so boring without you. See you on the campaign trail 🎉 https://lnkd.in/e8vyVmZK

I’m beyond excited to announce that I have accepted a role with LGBTQ Victory Fund and LGBTQ Victory Institute leading the gifted Development team as Vice President. LGBTQ Victory Fund works to achieve and sustain equality by increasing the number of pro-equality, pro-choice LGBTQ elected officials at all levels of government while ensuring they reflect the diversity of those they serve. LGBTQ Victory Institute leadership is advancing development, trainings, research and convenings for candidates and their supporters. Its programming includes the Presidential Appointments Initiative – which works to place LGBTQ appointees in pro-equality presidential administrations, and the International LGBTQ Leaders Conference — an annual conference that attracts hundreds of openly LGBTQ elected and appointed officials — expanding its footprint to serve LGBTQ communities in developing countries, including partnership with the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) to deliver programming in Colombia, Peru, and the Balkans. Contact me to find out how you or your organization can partner with us to support equality and representation. Onward to Victory!
