Congratulations to our client Waltersmith Refining and Petrochemical Company Limited on obtaining a License to Construct (LTC) for Phase 2 of their Ibigwe Refinery from the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) this week. VFuels LLC is delighted to be part of this project following the commissioning of Phase 1 in 2020. The Waltersmith Petroman Oil Limited Refinery remains one of the most successful private sector refineries in Nigeria and has significant scope for growth once expanded. Building on our successful track record and project delivery, VFuels LLC and its partner Lambert Electromec Ltd have been selected to design, engineer, fabricate, and commission the second module of 5,000 bpd for Waltersmith. The refinery is expected to be commissioned by Q3 2025, with plans to expand to Phase 3 immediately after.

PROJECT UPDATE 🇦🇴 VFuels and its partners continue to make progress at the Cabinda Modular Refinery in Angola. We are currently finalising #piping and #instrumentation interconnection, with all other major interconnections already completed. #Nitrogen purging will soon follow to presevse all systems ahead of #commissioning. Meanwhile, a new water and #wastewater treatment plant is on its way to the site, in preparation for the arrival of our partner EMCO Engineering who will support with installations and commissioning activities. The Cabinda Refinery, owned by Gemcorp Capital and Sonangol, will be Angola’s newest #oilrefinery with an initial capacity of 30,000 bpd. It marks VFuels’ first project in Angola and our biggest modular distillation unit fabricated to date. The Angolan government has established ambitious goals for its downstream infrastructure, which entail the development of new refineries in Cabinda (30,000 bpd), Soyo (100,000 bpd), and Lobito (200,000 bpd). The Cabinda Refinery is projected to be constructed in two stages, each with a capacity of 30,000 bpd, ultimately reaching a total capacity of 60,000 bpd when fully completed.
