Emergency is our middle name. It's all we do, so we do it best.
About us
Veterinary Emergency Group, VEG, takes a radically different approach to veterinary emergency medicine. We’ve transformed the ER experience so it works for people and their pets, from our fully open and immersive hospital environment, to our emergency-focused team, to our customer-centered approach to care. Come to our hospitals and you’ll see how we’re different: patients see a doctor right away, even before filling out paperwork; our open plan hospitals ensure that customers feel connected to their pets’ care; and owners can stay with their pets through all stages of treatment. We also find a way to say YES. A customer wants to stay overnight with their pet? YES! A worried owner wants to watch their pet’s surgery? Absolutely! We also say yes through our philanthropy, VEG Cares, which makes life-saving care possible for pets in need in our local VEG communities. Through donations from families, fundraisers, and partners, VEG doctors and nurses are empowered to make the best decision possible about each patient’s care and say yes to treatment that could save their lives. Not only have we revolutionized the veterinary emergency experience for people and their pets, but we’ve also transformed it for everyone who works here—our VEGgies! Since we handle every kind of pet emergency, from vomiting to complex surgeries, our VEGgies have the opportunity to treat many different types of cases. And since our hospitals are open, customers can hear every patient assessment and diagnosis, see how we care for each patient, and watch every heroic act as it happens. Working here is more than a job—it’s a long-term fulfilling career where you feel supported, both at VEG and in your life outside of work. At our 40 locations nationwide—and growing—we’re there if you want to build a fulfilling career in veterinary emergency medicine, and above all, we’re here to help people and their pets when they need it most.

"The moment I walked into VEG I could tell this was going to be a different experience." It warms our hearts to know that we're able to help Bradley, Chandler, and their Mom when they need it most. ❤️ Our hospitals create a safe space for pet emergencies and pet parents. Don't just take if from us, listen to what @bradley_and_chandler [on Instagram] had to say about our open concept. #vegolution #pethospital #petlovers

⚠️ Sensitive Content: If you don't want to see a dog impaled by a stick, keep scrolling. When a mom rushed in with her dog, impaled in its left leg by a branch, Dr. Rothstein and Dr. McAlister jumped right in to help stabilize poor Hughi. They quickly realized they didn’t have anything big enough to cut the branch. Luckily, a quick call to a VEGgie's family member, who works for an electrical and mechanical business, brought the needed tools in just 20 minutes. Thanks to the amazing teamwork and quick thinking, Hughi is now on the mend, happy and healthy at home.👏❤️ 📍VEG Clifton #vegolution #pethospital

We love seeing our VEGgies, like Dr. Fleur Jones, DVM make meaningful connections to share pet emergency advice. This is a great example of connecting to our mission - helping people & their pets when they need it most. ❤️ Thank you Katie Koschalk for helping us save lives!
Outdoor adventures with your pup can come with unexpected surprises — like bee stings 🐝 😬 I spoke to vets — Dr. Fleur Jones, DVM from Veterinary Emergency Group and Dr. Ashly Smith, DVM from Small Door Veterinary — to understand how to handle bee stings in dogs, including tips on recognizing symptoms, immediate care, and when to seek veterinary help. #PetCare #DogHealth #SummerSafety #VeterinaryAdvice #PetWriter #PetNiche
