Brownstown recently became the first municipality in Jackson County to utilize solar energy to reduce utility costs. Town council members held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the wastewater treatment plant for the new solar facility. The project, initiated by the late Councilman Mark Reynolds, aligns with a $7.26 million sanitary sewer project, enhancing the plant with solar power and LED lighting. Executed by Veregy, the 193.6 kWDC solar plant cost $913,632 and is expected to save $1,330,228 over 20 years. The town will also receive a $257,935 federal Inflation Reduction Act payment in 2025 to offset costs. We're excited to share how Veregy in Bells, TX, is stepping up to support our local heroes at the Bells Fire Department this summer! With temperatures soaring, our firefighters are working tirelessly to keep our community safe. To help them stay hydrated and energized, Veregy has donated water and Gatorade to ensure they can tackle any emergency with the strength and stamina they need. Bells is a growing city with a big heart, and it's incredible to see how our small town rallies together. From tax dollars to personal donations, the support for our fire department is truly inspiring. We’re proud to join hands with our neighbors in supporting those who protect us every day. A huge shoutout to Jeff Weatherford, our HVAC Manager of Operations, and the entire Veregy team for making this possible. Let's keep the spirit of community alive and continue to support our local heroes! #BellsFireDepartment #VeregyCares #LocalHeroes
