Many ask how to begin their leadership journey, thinking it requires a title. You couldn’t be more wrong. The reality is that every day, you have the opportunity to lead the army of one - yourself. Develop self-discipline, learn new things and continue to do hard things. You can only learn so much through a book. Stop reading. And go do stuff. Try stuff. Fail. Learn. If you wake up every morning and it feels like “just another day”, this post is for you. Might be time to start dreaming again … ”I wake up every day and literally feel excited to jump out of bed. I haven’t snoozed an alarm in years. I love every second of every day. At night, it takes me 30 seconds to fall asleep because I’m so exhausted from doing things I love all day. I genuinely just feel bad for anyone who feels ‘stuck’… because I haven’t felt like that since I made my first dreams list. And a life like this is right there for anyone to create. The key is that, you just have to create it. Living my dream life became realistic to me after I started selling Cutco as a college freshman. I started to really understand that if I wanted more than an ‘average life’, I had to do things that the ‘average’ person wouldn’t do. Learning sales, making calls, putting myself out there was definitely different and did that for me. The skills that helped me ‘start dreaming’ and get on this path were learning time management and goal setting. Not just time management like an ‘average’ person thinks of though, time management like a CEO. There’s a whole chapter in my book about this. Living the dream life heavily involves understanding priorities. Which ties into next-level goal setting. Really learning how to take something ‘big’ and properly ‘break it down’.
