ICYMI: We launched a new, free, #HCTS course in partnership with the Texas Epidemic Public Health Institute (TEPHI). Health is an important but complicated topic. It can often seem like there is an overwhelming amount of information, ideas, facts, and rumors out there, and a lot of it contradicts other things we've been told. "Dealing with Conflicting Health Information" is a crash course in understanding types of conflicting information, why research can sometimes seem contradictory, and how to start civilized conversations about misunderstood health topics. Check it out! 👉 https://lnkd.in/gjTKBYVC

Thank you UT Center for Health Communication for having me as the keynote speaker at the 10th Annual Health Communication Leadership Institute & for highlighting my remarks on the key drivers of success in primary care delivery & public health: ✔ A clear mission ✔ Building relationships across systems ✔ Listening to & understanding people's stories (and genuinely caring) ✔ Building trust from the ground up Something I didn't highlight but I always practice: kindness is king. ⭐ As Mr. Rogers once said, "There are three ways to ultimate success: The first way is to be kind. The second way is to be kind. The third way is to be kind."
That's a wrap on the 10th annual Health Communication Leadership Institute (HCLI)! We had a chance to apply the skills we've been honing together and activate our new network of fellow #UTHCLI attendees by working in teams on a case study about promoting folic acid consumption amongst women in Texas. Then, Chief Community Health Officer for Walmart Health and Wellness, Pritesh Gandhi, M.D., MHS, closed with a keynote session where he graciously shared insights from his vast career & work on public-private partnerships. From practicing physician to community clinic leader to homeland security, he's found a few key drivers of success across public health efforts: ✅ A clear mission people believe in. ✅ Dedication to building relationships across systems. ✅ Listening to and understanding people's stories. ✅ Building trust from the ground up. Thank you to everyone who traveled near and far to share your knowledge with us! Subscribe to our email list to make sure you don't miss out on HCLI 2025 and our other events and opportunities throughout the year: https://lnkd.in/gP_cDqCF
