Utero Diagnostics wins runner up at the iGEM Startups Startup showcase 2023! Our team (Heyuan N., Omnya Mohamed Izzeldin) at Utero Diagnostics completed the yearlong iGEM Startups accelerator program. We hosted our kiosk at the Bioinnovation fair. As a last step, I presented on behalf of the team at the Grand Jamboree in Paris, France. We won runner up in the Health, MedTech and Diagnostics section of the Startup showcase! I shared Utero's journey and had the opportunity to learn from my co-panelists. Link to recording: https://lnkd.in/grekKZFH Utero's journey began at the iGEM Startups Biohackathon in March 2023. We competed with 26 teams to win First runner up and the best pitch video. We participated in the second step of the month long, Venture Creation Labs in April 2023. Here, we learnt the basics of running a successful startup, pitching, patenting and market viability. Here, we placed as the first runner up in the Americas and also won the best participation award. We then participated in the mentorship program where we received industry perspective from Stephen Grant. Finally, we completed the Fast Track program, where we received some facetime with Venture Capitalists.
