#ICYMI USTDA recently hosted a workshop in Vietnam with the U.S. Department of Commerce and the Vietnam Ministry of Health on regulatory best practices that could support the development of Vietnam's medical device management law. The workshop was a unique opportunity for the U.S. to provide input and recommendations as Vietnam develops its first-ever “Law on Medical Devices” and establish regulations that will streamline its ability to procure top-tier medical devices and strengthen the quality of healthcare in Vietnam. The workshop builds on a reverse trade mission hosted by USTDA earlier this year, which brought Vietnamese health officials to Boston, Minneapolis, and Washington, D.C., to exchange information and learn best practices from U.S. companies and government officials on medical device procurement, testing, quality management, registration and licensing. #MedTech #Healthcare #Vietnam

USTDA helps deploy innovative U.S. infrastructure solutions to emerging economies.

#ICYMI In October, USTDA brought a delegation of South African municipal energy decision-makers to Colorado and North Carolina to meet U.S. companies and municipal counterparts and see demonstrations of cutting-edge U.S. technologies. The delegation viewed the latest innovative research on clean energy and grid technologies at the EPRI in Charlotte and at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in Denver. In Colorado, they also visited the Western Area Power Administration, part of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), to learn about its role in selling and transmitting wholesale electricity to Federal, state, and local government entities, which then provide retail electric service to consumers.
