This week, we had the joy of visiting our incredible AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers in Moab to celebrate their remarkable contributions! Monette, Sharla, and Beth have dedicated over 3,284 hours as Foster Grandparents, making a huge impact on local children. Meanwhile, Pat has devoted 278 hours as a Senior Companion, bringing companionship and support to isolated seniors. Our volunteers were honored at a special dinner reception and recognized by Mayor Langianese and the Moab City Council. Each volunteer received a City of Moab pin from the mayor during the council meeting. UServeUtah's own Amber Einerson was recently honored with Tooele City Mayor's Community Recognition Award for the many ways she serves in her community. We are so lucky to have her on our team. She has gotten so many seniors involved in service in Tooele County! Here's a little more about how Amber is making a difference. This nomination was provided by Mary Krish: "Amber is a lifelong resident of Tooele County. She is busy raising three boys and is passionate about helping the community. She has a master's degree in education and worked in special education for many years before moving onto working with the elderly in the community. Amber shows great care to those she works with by helping to give them every opportunity she can. Amber is a member of the Ladies Community Club of Tooele where she helps coordinate volunteers and facilitates many of their programs. Recently, the club held a baby blanket making event, sewing beautiful blankets that were donated to local families. Amber also volunteers her time to the local soccer club as a volunteer coach. Amber has always had a compassionate side, while growing up she helped care for their disabled brother with gentleness and love. Amber is an incredibly knowledgeable, caring and kind-hearted woman." Thank you for making a difference in our community! Congratulations, Amber! https://lnkd.in/gjsmk4Sa
