Last week, we wrapped Season 3 of our Awkward Silences podcast. Here are 3 themes we observed across our episodes: 1️⃣ Researchers are working to connect their work to the wider business: --> Strengthening and clarifying stakeholder relationships --> Upleveling business know-how, such as financials --> Investigating their org structures to uncover decision hierarchies 2️⃣ The "non-researcher" continues growing their research skills: --> PMs and designers are prioritizing foundational UXR knowledge --> The goal is "customer intuition" to help make better decisions --> Some insights beats none every time, especially for small teams 3️⃣ UXRs are adapting their toolkits for new technology: --> More are asking "How might I use..." in relation to AI --> Many are using freed time to sharpen core skills, like synthesis --> New tech is unlocking space to grow insight socialization, stickiness Our thanks to all of Season 3's guests for their time and insight: Caroline Morchio, Jonathan Widawski, Auzita I., Judd Antin, Dave Hora, Christiana Lackner, Tyler Wanlass, Claudia Natasia, Nadyne Richmond, Julian Della Mattia, Victoria Sakal 🏴, Lauren Stern, George Whitfield, Ruby Pryor, Jim Morris, and Bryan Dosono, PhD. Be sure to subscribe to Awkward Silences wherever you get your podcasts—we'll be back with Season 4 later this year!

🤔 How do UX researcher salaries compare to those of UX designers? As we’d expect, salary💰 increases commensurate with experience. When we look at the same data by seniority/level manager salaries are lower than Senior/Principal ICs—in most cases, this seems to remain true even when we apply additional filters for years of experience.
