Another day, another harvest visit! USApple's Chris Gerlach recently toured the Lake Erie region of Ohio, the #10 apple-growing state—and growing. Along the way, Chris met with growers, packers, storage facilities, sellers, and cider makers, gaining insights into operators' unique opportunities and challenges. These conversations are essential, as no two growers or regions are alike in this ever-evolving industry. Plus, the tour included a stop at an apple cannon!

🚜🍎 Harvest visits are the best! USApple’s Senior VP Diane Kurrle recently traveled to Michigan to meet with growers, packers, and key policymakers to discuss top industry issues. At a roundtable with Congresswoman Elissa Slotkin (D-MI) and USDA Deputy Secretary Xochitl Torres Small, labor challenges and the burdens of the H-2A program took center stage. Diane also connected with growers on priority topics like crop insurance, exports, and the upcoming Farm Bill. Rain didn’t stop us from visiting some amazing apple growers in Virginia this week, including Saunders Brothers in Piney River, Crown Orchard in Covesville, and Shenandoah Valley Orchards in Timberville.
