A design for business success! In 2013, Wanda Luna founded Universal Furniture Design, which manufactures custom furnishings for the hospitality industry. Starting in her garage, Universal Furniture Design now occupies a 9,018 square-foot space with more than a dozen employees. The business is known for craftsmanship and affordable quality products. When the pandemic hit, Wanda was able to keep workers on the payroll with help from SBA funding. Thanks to Wanda’s leadership, the business recovered from the economic impacts of the pandemic. 2023 was Universal Furniture Design's best year on record, with major projects throughout Las Vegas. She gives back to the community, serving as Las Vegas chapter president of a national hospitality association and supporting local charities that help low-income families and children. Wanda is the Nevada Small Business Person of the Year!

🎉 Celebrating Entrepreneurship with Veterans! 🎉 Last Thursday, July 18th, 2024, I had the privilege of facilitating a dynamic workshop for veterans at the Veterans Outreach Business Center (VBOC). The event took place at the University of Texas in Arlington, and the energy in the room was palpable! 🚀 Our passionate group of veterans explored opportunities to do business with the federal government. From aspiring entrepreneurs to seasoned business owners, everyone was eager to learn and connect. 💼 A special shout-out to Nancy N. Alvarez, our SBA 8(a) Program Manager from the Dallas/Fort Worth District Office, who led the workshop. Nancy shared valuable insights on certification eligibility and the process, empowering our veterans to navigate the federal marketplace successfully. 🌟 👉 If you’re a veteran entrepreneur or know someone who is, UTA Veterans Business Outreach Center VBOC and spread the word! Let’s continue supporting our veterans as they build thriving businesses. 🇺🇸💪 #VeteransInBusiness #Entrepreneurship #SBA #VBOC #UTA #SmallBusiness #FederalMarketplace
