This a fantastic behind the scenes look of the team that helped us replace all 16 cables with sockets at Woonsocket Falls Dam.
The Regional Rivers Repair Fleet (R3F) of the Huntington District has some of the best heavy maintenance, repair and fabrication/machining professionals in the world. Recently, a US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Public Affairs team visited our Marietta Repair Station (MRS) operating unit in Marietta, Ohio, to learn more about the fabrication and machining skills required to maintain our Nation's riverine infrastructure of navigation locks and dams and flood damage reduction structures. The team then visited Hannibal Locks and Dam, where two of our floating plant units are performing a major maintenance dewatering, replacing miter gate anchorages and rehabilitating all four miter gates. I'm proud to work with this team! https://lnkd.in/e-J2X-T3

Sun, glare, wind, noise, and motion from riding in a boat are things that can slow your reaction time almost as if you were legally intoxicated. Boat sober to help ensure you and others return home safely. #LifeJacketsWornNobodyMourns

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers New England District's Bridge Safety Program is managed by Bryan Paul, PE, and covers public vehicular bridges, public pedestrian bridges, non-public vehicular bridges, non-public pedestrian bridges, and a railroad bridge. Our bridge inspections are dictated by the type of Bridge: public vehicular bridges we inspect according to FHWA standards. Railroad bridges follow AREMA standards. All bridges follow USACE Engineering Regulations (ERs) and those are the main guidance we have to follow for the other types of bridges. The District Bridge Safety Program covers the following USACE Business Lines: Navigation, Recreation, Flood Risk Management. The Bridge Safety inspection team consist of 8 structural engineers; six of who meet the qualifications for FHWA and ER to be a team lead on the inspection, 5 meet the qualifications to be a team lead on a nonredundant steel tension member (NSTMs) inspections.
