United Way - 1971 Formerly known as the United Fund, this newspaper clipping highlights one of United Way’s foundational purposes: to streamline and unite philanthropic efforts in Utah County. Before United Way, our county’s charitable efforts were relatively disorganized. Nonprofits stood separate from each other, services were duplicated, and resources were not widely shared. Businesses were pressed to find guidance as to where their donation was most needed and which volunteer opportunities were available. Nonprofits had minimal connections to local companies, as most companies do not have time to hear petitions from dozens of different charities. By serving as a united voice for local nonprofits, United Way is able to streamline communication to local businesses, informing them of what is most needed in the county, and provides a simple way for them to designate their donation to various causes. Our nonprofit partners are better connected to organizations that want to donate and volunteer. Resources and expertise are shared, resulting in better quality services for the community and more efficient use of donor dollars. It was true in 1971 and it is true now: we are better together when we live united! #liveunited #bettertogether #partneragencies #corporatepartners #unitedfund #unitedway #utahcounty

Yesterday, as part of Brigham Young University's annual giving campaign, the Athletics department came together for an incredible day of service! 💪 Volunteers rolled up their sleeves at Westmore Elementary School, repainting playground games and bringing new life to the school's outdoor spaces. Other groups headed to Community Action's gardens where they built sheds, weeded, and helped maintain the community's garden plots. It's amazing to see what we can accomplish when we unite together for a cause bigger than ourselves. So proud we can be a part of a community that prioritizes giving back! Go Cougs! 💙 🤙

Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions (RMU) partnered with United Way of Utah County to host a health fair at the South Franklin United Way Center. Held annually, the event offers free health screenings to underserved families. RMU students, under professional supervision, provided screenings for blood pressure, vision, hearing, and more. United Way thanks RMU for its role in bringing these vital services to the community, helping improve access to care for many local residents.

Day of Caring 2024 had an EPIC start at our annual breakfast! We love seeing so many new and familiar faces of our incredible volunteers and community leaders. This breakfast wouldn’t be possible without our incredible sponsors: Brigham Young University, Utah Valley University, Provo Marriott Hotel & Conference Center, Nu Skin, Intermountain Health, Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions, Namify, and Duncan Aviation. And a special thank you to Costco Wholesale for bringing water bottles for every attendee and Java Junkie for the coffee. Each year we have a blessing on the day. Then, to honor the memory of the heroes of September 11th, a special combined honor guard of Provo police and firefighters present the flag. This is an annual tradition accompanied by the Pledge of Allegiance and National Anthem. We celebrated the generous giving of our partner companies with campaign awards including Revere Health as Corporate Partner of the Year, Duncan Aviation as Campaign of the Year, and Amy Alldredge Thaxton from Verisk for Campaign Leader of the Year. We also had special guest appearances from Cosmo & UVU Green Man Group. Plus, door prizes donated by so many incredible companies!! What a way to kick off an incredible day of serving for over 1,500 volunteers! We are truly BETTER TOGETHER ❤️💛💙
