Our Community Schools team was thrilled to welcome 40 school and district administrators from all over Idaho to Boise for a Leadership Intensive! During this session, school leaders were able to hear about the implementation of the Community School Strategy from other Idaho principals and superintendents. We were also lucky enough to have speakers from @coalitionforcommunityschools share some practical steps for engaging community partners, and diving into the work! United Way of Treasure Valley is honored to serve as the backbone agency for the Idaho Coalition for Community Schools. We strive to support students and strengthen communities everywhere. Thank you to all who attended, to @idaho.sde for welcoming us to your space, and to @dawsontaylorroasters for keeping us caffeinated!

We are thrilled to share that our Director of Community Impact, Megan Remaley, has been recognized as one of this year's Women of the Year! For 19 years, Idaho Business Review has been honoring the accomplishments of amazing, professional women throughout the Gem State. This year's honorees were selected based on professional achievement, leadership, mentorship and community service. Megan's leadership of our Community Impact work, notably the Rural Expansion Initiative for Community Schools, is an incredible example of how United Way of Treasure Valley mobilizes the caring power of our community to change the odds so everyone can thrive. #UnitedWayTV #CommunityImpact #WomenoftheYear

The team at our Boise Corporate Office had a fantastic time participating in the IDEA Council’s Third Annual Diversity Day Celebration! We want to express our gratitude to the IDEA Council, our Associate Resource Groups, and our wonderful community partners including American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Faces of Hope, Idaho Black Community Alliance, Idaho Hispanic Foundation, Idaho Office For Refugees, United Way of Treasure Valley, Wassmuth Center for Human Rights and Women's & Children's Alliance, for making this event possible. Participants also gained insights on civic engagement and human rights from Christina Bruce-Bennion, Executive Director of the Wassmuth Center for Human Rights, while enjoying an excellent meal provided by Horsewood Catering. We would like to give a special thanks to Smithfield Foods for supporting this incredible celebration. Diversity Day was more than an event; it was a reaffirmation of our core values of building belonging and celebrating diverse perspectives and a day that brought us together as a team to enjoy good food, great company, and shared values. #DiversityDay #Diversity #Belonging

🏠💙 The Treasure Valley faces significant social challenges, and we must come together to address them. Our top priorities include: 1️⃣ Affordable Housing: Almost half of renters are rent-burdened. 2️⃣ Mental Health & Substance Misuse: All ten counties in our region are "Mental Health Provider Shortage" areas. 3️⃣ Access to Healthcare: Barriers like limited providers, wait times, inconvenient hours, and cost make this a difficult issue. Join us in making a difference! #TreasureValley #CommunitySupport #AffordableHousing #MentalHealth #HealthcareForAll
