What an inspiring day at the University of New Hampshire Life Sciences Showcase Day and Executive Round Table yesterday! We had a full day of meaningful discussions with industry leaders and tours of UNH’s advanced life sciences and support facilities on the Durham campus. The commitment to fostering innovation and growth in New Hampshire’s life sciences sector was exciting to see. Our conversations with industry partners covered a broad spectrum and some of our takeaways are: ◾ Talent: Building and retaining top talent (i.e. USNH grads) is key to success. ◾ Economic Growth: Strengthening NH's economy through life sciences innovation. ◾ Partnerships: Public-private collaboration is critical to making NH a destination for life sciences. ◾ Stronger Industry Voice: Elevating the role of life sciences and education partnerships. ◾ Scaling K-12 and career and technical education programs: Preparing the next generation for opportunities. ◾ Internships and Experiential Learning: Connecting students with real-world experience. UNH offers industry partners a range of opportunities, including co-location options, access to world-class instrumentation and technical services, cutting-edge lab resources and support, and workforce development programs to help businesses thrive. Thank you to all of our industry partners who joined us. Together, let's make New Hampshire the nation’s destination for life sciences! #UNHInnovation is proud to support commercialization of the new UNH Space Technology Hub. We've been working with Reka Winslow, Director of the Hub, to bring companies near and far to tour the facilities and explore ways the Hub can partner with industry for research, testing and expertise. This is an exciting next step for UNH as a land-, sea-, and space-grant research university. UNH had a legacy of space expertise and the Hub is the latest of many ways we support industry in the state and beyond. 🚀 🛰 Need testing services? UNH has been a space science powerhouse for more than 60 years. Our latest launch 🚀 is the Space Technology Hub, which gives the growing commercial space industry access to the facilities and expertise accumulated over decades of space research and more than 100 NASA partnerships. 🛰️ The hub, a first-of-its-kind center in the region that will provide affordable space solutions to the burgeoning commercial space sector, leverages UNH’s facilities and highly skilled engineers and scientists to provide expertise not readily available in the commercial space sector. The hub also has a shorter wait time than many of its competitors across the nation. Research professor Reka Winslow will direct this hub, which is housed in Morse Hall at UNH and is part of the Space Science Center.
