    September 15th marks the first day of National Hispanic Heritage Month! This month, we’re proud to highlight four extraordinary individuals who have made significant impacts on the nursing community and beyond. Their dedication, leadership, and advocacy continue to inspire and pave the way for future generations. 🌟 Dr. Ildaura Murillo-Rohde, Ph.D., R.N., FAAN A leader in nursing and a strong advocate for the Hispanic community, Dr. Murillo-Rohde founded the National Association of Hispanic Nurses and served as Dean of Nursing at SUNY Brooklyn. Her legacy is one of empowerment and progress. 🌟 Henrieta Villaescusa, MPH, RN Henrieta Villaescusa broke barriers as the first Mexican-American Chief Nurse Consultant and championed the cause of Hispanic nurses in public health. Her influence is felt across generations. 🌟 Hector Hugo Gonzalez, Ph.D., VR-RN Dr. Hector Hugo Gonzalez was a visionary in nursing education and leadership. As the first Mexican-American nurse with a doctorate and a co-founder of the National Association of Hispanic Nurses, his contributions are profound and enduring. 🌟 Alana Cueto, MSN, R.N., CNL Alana Cueto’s commitment to education, service, and inclusion shines through her work as NAHN's 19th President.
