It is one year since the horrific October 7 attack in Israel, in which women and children were killed, abducted, and assaulted. What followed has been unprecedented levels of suffering in Gaza, the West Bank, and Lebanon, with women killed, injured, assaulted, illegally detained, and displaced. We need ceasefire now. The hostages must be released immediately. Humanitarian aid must be allowed to reach women and girls in need immediately. The killing and suffering must end. We need peace now.

There is #NoExcuse for gender-based violence. Yet, 1 in 3 women globally have been subjected to physical or sexual violence at least once in their life. That’s why we are teaming up with the European Commission to roll out the ACT programme.
