The Quebec government published its final version of Chapter C-11 Charter of the French Language. This aligns the new regulation with an existing legislation "Charger of the French language", modified by Bill 96 from 2022. It details circumstances in which trademarks may appear, particularly in advertising, as well as on products, public signs, and posters. Specifically, this clarifies the rules for displaying trademarks and other texts on public signs and in advertising, including the requirement for French to be “markedly predominant” on exterior signs. Provisions specific to labeling of products comes into force on June 1, 2025, with an anticipated second set of regulations coming some time afterward. The Standardization Administration of China has issued GB 28007-2024 - Safety Technical Specifications for Infant and Children's Furniture. This document specifies the general safety requirements and product-specific safety requirements for furniture used by infants and children aged 0 to 14 years old. This document is applicable to the design, manufacture, sales and service, quality and safety inspection, and evaluation of furniture for infants and children. The Standardization Administration of China has published two mandatory standards for furniture. The standards are: 1. GB 28008-2024 Technical Specifications for Structural Safety of Furniture. This document specifies general safety requirements for furniture structure and safety requirements for products with specific structures. This document is applicable to furniture other than infants' and children's furniture. Publication Date: June 25, 2024 Implementation Date: July 1, 2025. 2. GB 17927-2024 Safety Technical Specifications for Flame Retardant Performance of Furniture This document specifies terms and definitions, requirements, test methods, inspection rules and identification of fire retardant for furniture.
