Advisory Engineer Close Date: 10/09/2024   DUTIES    Initiate own technical programs and make recommendations to management on technical programs based on analysis of customer needs and technology trends, reach solutions to the most complex technical problems in field(s) of expertise and to influence solutions in neighboring disciplines. Apply technical experience in field of specialization or broad-based experience in multiple technical fields, and use other technical resources in the company and external resources, to resolve complex problems. Incorporate advanced technical practices and a variety of complex features such as complicated technical requirements, application of new or special materials or processes and difficult coordination or oversight requirements into problem solving and program planning. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Education: Typically, an advance degree and experience - PhD degree and about 15 years' experience, MS degree and 17 years' experience, BS degree and about 21 years’ experience.   Experience/Skills:   • Degree in Engineering from ABET accredited institution/program or current registration as a Professional Engineer. • Candidate must have a minimum of two (2) years prior experience working in an Assessor capacity. • Candidate must demonstrate a minimum of twelve (12) years Design Engineering (or related field) work experience on a DOE O 413.3, line-item capital asset project with a total project cost > $50M.  • Candidate must be capable of managing project tasks and delivering cost effective results while maintaining scheduling commitments.   • Candidate must be able to perform field walk-downs to document as-installed conditions and/or assess condition of existing facilities/equipment. • Candidate must be able to work independently and within a multi-discipline team.  • Candidate must have excellent communication (e.g., written and verbal) skills and the ability to efficiently interact with NNSA, as well as SRNS Support Teams responsible for Engineering Oversight, Procurement, and Quality Assurance. • Occasional business travel is required.     UDR is seeking qualified candidates for a Project Controls EVMS Compliance Manager opportunity for our customer in Carlsbad, NM to support the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP). Per diem is available for those who qualify. Work Location: On-Site at WIPP. Citizenship: United States Citizenship Required The Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is the nation’s only permanent nuclear waste repository for defense-generated transuranic (TRU) waste generated from Department of Energy (DOE) sites across the country. Waste is permanently isolated over 2,000 feet underground in deep salt beds. The candidate will ensure the successful and compliant completion of EVMS deliverables applicable to EVM Systems. This includes the proper execution of baseline change control, and systems integration of EVMS key elements. As such, the candidate will verify that EV Projects are implemented and maintained as approved. The candidate will participate with project controls from the inception to the completion of a project to ensure that the prerequisite requirements for proper systems integration and EVMS principles are clearly defined and communicated. The candidate will escalate compliance issues for resolution. The candidate will be expected to present and provide insight from an EVM Systems perspective in layman’s terms to senior management and project stakeholders.   Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree (experience may substitute for the degree) Fifteen (15) years of related experience Previous EVM experience. Experience within a DOE 413.3B environment. Familiarity with ANSI/EIA 748 Requirements. Citizenship: United States Citizenship Required Job Description: Provide support to the WIPP projects in the development, analysis, and control of project schedules in support of program goals and objectives. Provide assistance in the development and maintenance of integrated, resource loaded schedules utilizing fundamental critical path method techniques within an earned value management system.
