We are thrilled to hear the news that Mayor Adams and the TLC have announced new rules to require all city's rideshare vehicles to be zero-emission by 2030. This is a huge step forward for New York's climate goals and air quality. At UCharge, we are proud to be part of the solution by working to provide high-speed and convenient EV charging stations across the city, expanding access to DC fast-charging, and making it significantly easier for New Yorkers to switch to electric vehicles. We know that electric vehicles are the future of transportation, and we are committed to making them affordable and accessible for everyone: rideshare drivers, residents, commuters and visitors. Join us in celebrating this milestone for New York City and supporting the transition to a cleaner and greener transportation system! https://lnkd.in/eGjvxxcK.

https://lnkd.in/eRFBzRXR Seven major automakers announced today that they have formed a joint venture, still unnamed, to install at least 30,000 high-speed EV chargers across the USA by 2030. The chargers will be located along highways and in metropolitan areas. Their commitment to fast EV charging is a major step forward for the electric vehicle revolution, but it's important to note that it doesn't really address the issue of fast urban EV charging. In their statement, the car companies only mentioned "metropolitan" areas, which could include both urban and suburban areas. There is still an acute need for fast EV charging in urban areas (even for people who don't own cars: many urbanites rely on ride-hailing services, which are becoming increasingly electric). And as the number of electric vehicles on the road increases, the need for fast EV charging in urban areas will only grow. The joint venture between the seven automakers is huge news and very welcome, but it's important to remember that the issue of fast urban EV charging has yet to be specifically addressed. UCharge is working to solve this very issue. Keep an eye out for more news very soon!
