Elles vont toutes deux participer aux travaux de vinification des domaines SYLVAIN PATAILLE et vincent Girardin. Depuis 1990, chaque année deux étudiants de DAVIS sont accueillis pour une expérience de vinifs en Bourgogne sous la houlette de pascal durand. Château du Clos de Vougeot

UC Davis V & E Chair, Ben Montpetit, visited alum Hugh Davies at Schramsberg Vineyards in Calistoga last week. V & E alumni, Bainian and Cameron, were spotted interning there and shared more about the hands-on experiences they’re gaining during this harvest season. Ben wrapped up his visit to Napa with a stop at the department’s Oakville Station to check in with Guillermo, the department’s vineyard manager.

Last week, the UC Davis Department of Viticulture & Enology hosted its 3rd annual bootcamp. Attendees from HBCUs and HSIs spent three days learning about viticulture and enology, the programs we offer at UC Davis, and ended the trip with a visit to Napa, with tours and tastings at Burgess Cellars, Lobo Wines, and Prisoner Wine Company. Thank you to Executive Leadership Board Member Dwyane Wade for sponsoring the bootcamp!

Last week, the Department of Viticulture and Enology at UC Davis hosted the Diversity of Wine Bootcamp, an event funded by the Gérard Basset Foundation. Attendees from area community colleges spent the day learning about viticulture and enology and the educational opportunities available in these disciplines at UC Davis. They spent time out in the vineyard, in the winery crushing grapes (and drinking grape juice), and learned about sensory evaluation (the science of tasting).
