About us

When you first get that admit letter, your joy knows no bound. You scream, you are elated, your parents couldn’t be prouder and your friends won’t stop asking you for parties. Or for the chosen few, they throw parties for you. And then it hits you. You’re headed to a foreign land without the comforts of home, and people you call your own. That’s where we step in. We at GISA, are people who have gone through exactly the same things (maybe similar) that you go through in all the different phases in this journey. GISA is a brewing pot of students, alumni and some other Indian people who are currently living or have lived in Buffalo. But it doesn’t limit itself to just Indians; it’s a welcoming community to anyone who’s willing to help or needs help. We work closely with other communities to provide airport pickup. We provide guidance and help with people looking for best options for housing. Students also reach out for help with coursework and best possible options for their careers. And we take our parties very seriously. This group is here to help you and support you as you soak in new experiences and make new friends. While you diversify and make new friends, you can always find people within this group who make you a little less homesick and a lot more at ease.
