👋Meet our UAB Graduate School & Global Affairs (GSGA) Program Director I, Jacob Nance. 🐲Jacob manages the #HR and #Finance operations for various programs within GSGA. He shares, “Things are ever changing at UAB, so there is always something new to learn. I love problem-solving and the complexity of systems and processes at UAB keeps me on my toes.” 🐉Jacob also serves as Program Manager for PREP Scholars - which equips program candidates with experience and professional development skills needed to succeed in a one-or two-year post baccalaureate program. 🌟Throughout his career, Jacob has worn many hats in various roles and has gained a unique combination of skills, “I am adept with technology, communication, graphic design, web design, photography, UAB processes and most things computer related. I love problem solving and tweaking already-existing documents and processes to make them even better.” 🎓His greatest educational accomplishment is, “Earning a master’s degree in communication management from UAB and teaching Public Speaking for my graduate program has been my biggest educational accomplishment.” 💚With success comes the team that help support you – family! He shares, “I’m grateful for my parents and my friends – they have always been supportive of me and my life decisions. It was challenging growing up in a small, conservative (at the time) town in the 90’s, but my friends and family got me through the most difficult of those times. Also, I couldn’t do this crazy thing we call life without the love and support of my husband. He’s my ride-or-die; the Thelma to my Louise; my rock.” 💚 😇In his spare time, Jacob enjoys playing video games, and cooking for his husband and two pets: Craven and Ludo. 🤩Fun Fact: Jacob and his husband own a full-service salon in Hoover! #MeetGSGATeam #GSGA #UAB
