Fort Stewart-Hunter Army Airfield Garrison Commander, Col. Marc Austin, visited Fort Moore recently to take part in a regional intergovernmental service agreement signing between the University of Georgia and eight Army installations, including Fort Stewart and Fort Moore, with the potential to expand to additional installations across the country. The proclamation agrees to provide climate hazard resilience services to assist mission and installation readiness. The 17th Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Army for Installations, Energy, and Environment, Hon. Rachel Jacobson; Executive Deputy to the Commanding General of U.S. Army Installation Management Command, Mr. J. Randall Robinson, Executive Deputy to the Commanding General of Installation Management Command; and The University of Georgia President Jere W. Morehead were all in attendance to sign the RIGSA, officially setting the partnership into motion. Enlisting the assistance of our local and regional partners through intergovernmental service agreements has saved the Army over 90 million dollars across the enterprise to date. Representatives from the University of Georgia are set to visit Fort Stewart in the coming weeks to work with the installation’s Directorate of Public Works environmental team. 📸: Bryan Lunn US Army U.S. Army Materiel Command
