We're happy to share our 2023 annual report. In Fiscal Year 2023, USCRI reached over 74,000 clients in all fifty states, El Salvador, Honduras, Kenya, and Mexico. That includes over 20,000 unaccompanied children, 1,500 survivors of human trafficking, and 18,000 refugees. We continue to grow our services and advocacy internationally. USCRI commends today's announcement from the DHS to extend and redesignate #TPSforHaiti for 18 months, safeguarding an estimated 309,000 eligible Haitian nationals residing in the U.S. Gangs in #Haiti control over 80% of Port-au-Prince and perpetrate killings, abductions, sexual violence, and other abuses, causing mass displacement. Over 578,000 people are #IDPs. "A safe and dignified return to Haiti is impossible with the ongoing humanitarian and protection crisis,” said USCRI President and CEO Eskinder Negash. “Today’s decision by the Biden administration is a critical step to protect Haitians from harm." While welcoming #TPSforHaiti, USCRI implores the Administration to halt deportations and maritime forced returns to #Haiti. We must stand with the people of Haiti, not deport them.
