For the past several days, our Meals that Matter® disaster relief team has been on the ground in communities surrounding Sioux City, Iowa, severely impacted by the recent flooding throughout the Midwest. Our team members served hot meals to victims, volunteers and first responders. After distributing meals, ice and water, the team supported several local food banks with protein donations—ultimately serving more than 400 counties!

In the wake of devastating tornadoes and storms right here in Northwest Arkansas, our Meals that Matter® disaster relief team was and continues to be on the ground to support our home state. Team members and volunteers, alongside our friends at Walmart, have been working hard to cook hot meals and distribute ice and water. Because when a natural disaster strikes, it’s more important than ever to support the communities we live and work in.

Consumers asked, we delivered! With demand high for quality family meals that are both tasty and quick to get on the table, our Tyson® brand released an innovative lineup of ready-to-grill products. 🛒  With grilling season heating up, consumers can choose from convenient new options, like the Tyson® Pork Griller Steak, which comes in steakhouse seasoned or herb and olive oil marinated flavors. We’re proud to have Paul Rampersaud as our government affairs and regulatory affairs #intern from the Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute. During his time in our Washington, D.C., office, Paul has put his passion for community into action by helping advance legislation.    While we hope Paul has learned a few takeaways from us, we also learn from our interns and team members. By listening to each other and providing ongoing development for all, we continue to adapt and grow as #OneTeamOneTyson.

Today, our team members gathered for the fourth annual GiveFest at our Springdale, Arkansas, World Headquarters! They visited with 50 local nonprofit groups to learn more about what they do, the services they provide and how to become a volunteer. Plus, there was live music, on-site food trucks and tons of fun with peers. We can't wait to see how our team members continue to get involved with these organizations! 🤝

#EarthMonth provides a moment to reflect on the incredible work our team members are doing every day to help us be a more sustainable, responsible and innovative food company.   Grounded by our ambition — The Formula to Feed the Future — team members are leading #sustainability initiatives like the new Local Grain Services Sustain program, which provides financial incentives and technical assistance for our partners who adopt sustainable farming practices.   We’re proud of our progress but know there is more work to be done. That’s why we’re driven to continue helping evolve a future food system capable of feeding the world today and for generations.
