Have you seen PCS’ video snippets they’ve been sharing as they approach Squash Ball, their annual fundraiser gala? We were so fortunate to speak with more than two dozen members of their community to hear what they were excited about for their brand new building.

Exciting times last night filming at Blue Portland Maine. The venue, a fixture in Portland for nearly 20 years, is undergoing a transformation: it is moving from a for-profit to a non-profit model aimed at making the music scene more accessible to Mainers of all stripes. It's hard to overstate the impact that Portland Community Squash has had on the social fabric of Portland. What began as a small organization playing in basement courts of a nearby sports facility has grown into a major force for good and social connection in the city. This year represents a huge evolution for the organization: they are unveiling their revamped community space that greatly expands their offerings. Featuring new outdoor space, additional courts, and a shared cafe, the new PCS building will help guide Mainers into healthier lives on and off the courts for years to come. We stepped up to help them promote the Squash Ball, their annual fundraising gala event, with a goal to bring to life the impact that the new facility will have on participants in their programs. What better way to do that than by speaking with staff, families, and members to talk about what the perfect day at PCS 2.0 looks like for them? Beyond a video series, we also helped perform a design refresh on their homepage and created save-the-dates and invitations for the event.

It's Thursday, so let's do a throwback! The Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association Common Ground Fair is coming up later this month, so now seems like a great time to bubble back up a video we did nearly ten years ago showcasing some of the things we saw during their 2016 event. This was one of the first projects I filmed on the Sony a7r ii shortly after buying it, and you can tell I hadn't quite dialed in how to work with SLOG footage (it's a bit gray, get some saturation in there, 26-year-old Alex!) That said, it still represents the way I approach projects today: stand back, let life happen, and dial in on the moments that resonate with me most. #mofga #commongroundfair #throwbackthursday

We're reflecting on the end of a wonderful Maine summer with some throwback shots we captured at the Ryan Rogers Memorial Golf Tournament at Poland Spring Resort in July. Despite temperatures in the high 90s, hundreds of people turned out to raise funds for the Ryan Rogers Samaritan Fund.
